Traditional business, coaching and personal development models are changing as people aim to have less, do less, yet be more. There is a real trend toward building lives that are less complicated, more intentional, genuine and simple.There is less of the need to have life mapped out years in advance with step by step plans of how to get there and more of a willingness to show up and respond to whatever comes next.This matches the movement toward living with less stuff, both physical and emotional and what appeals is the uncluttered, unhurried life that accompanies it.With the rise in human consciousness comes awareness and action as people decide they are no longer going to keep up with the Jones, follow paths mapped out for them by others or accept the story of lack and limitation that their negative self talk insists is important.We are discovering the empowerment that comes with living our truth, allowing our innate creativity in whatever form it come in, turning toward self-empowerment rather than self-destruction, and building on our strengths.Awareness that wellbeing and happiness are our natural state, can be a surprise if we’ve spent years searching outside of ourselves to ‘find ourselves’.Learning that we can easily tap into the innate wisdom we were born with may also come with some frustration if we’ve spent a fortune in journeys to far away places in the search for gurus.But hey, it’s all part of life and there’s nothing right or wrong about personal choice so there is no judgement here. Finding ourselves is a daily walk toward what is true for us.Last week we spoke about the use of daily standards, non-negotiables for each day which provide a framework for living as our true self.I’ve been experimenting with this approach as I make a conscious effort to embrace simple, slow living. It came with the realisation that I’m not that good at sticking with goals, even 90 day ones, so I’m just going to drop the need for them. It's something I see in my clients too, setting goals often leads to self sabotage when despite all the will power and positive thinking we don't achieve them.It doesn’t mean my life will descend into chaos and that I’m mulling around without direction but with the use of daily standards I’m streamlining things, being consistent in my progress and much more focused because I’m not doing anything that’s not related to living who I really am.I’ve started to work out what my daily standards are, beginning with my personal health and wellbeing. Next I’ll look at what I intend for my environment, relationships, family, career and time.These are my first ramblings:

Eat real whole foods. Don’t touch anything that comes out of a box or a packet & steer well clear of any kind of sugar.
Be a day maker - make a positive difference in my own and someone else’s day - choose to be happy
There are 1440 minutes in a day. Use between 20 & 40 of them to exercise. Pick from running, yoga, qi gong, swimming laps or climbing mountains (the ones without snow)
